Our Leadership Philosophy

We are a bank driven by our relationships. As a community based lender, our connection with our customers are paramount and we also recognize that growth and strength come from within our organization. That mindset drives a culture focused on teamwork, accountability, and doing right by our customers.

Our loan originators are HomeStreet ambassadors in the communities where we lend. Because you know first-hand the mortgage needs of the markets where you work, we encourage your involvement in getting new loan programs approved and helping our company to be as effective as possible. We rely on our Loan Officers to help identify ways to do business better and in return, you should feel confident knowing you are backed by a company determined to see you succeed.

Our Leadership Team

Many of our executive leaders have been developed internally and have an intimate understanding of our process and culture from the ground up. You will find that HomeStreet has open doors and an understanding of when it’s time to get flat at the top to solve a problem and meet the needs of our customers.

Members of our leadership team have built their careers in the mortgage and banking industry and have led our organization and cultivated growth through the peaks and valleys characteristic of the mortgage industry. We are proud to continue to grow our organization, thanks to responsible lending practices.

Reputation and History:

HomeStreet is one of the largest community banks headquartered in Washington. We began in 1921 as Continental Mortgage and Loan Company, initially offering financing for commercial real estate and home mortgages. Today, we are a publically traded, full-service bank (NASDAQ: HMST) but have stayed true to our mortgage lending roots. As a nearly century old financial institution, we have weathered many storms – the Great Depression, sky high interest rates of the late ‘70s and early ‘80s, and more recently the popping of the real estate bubble and the subsequent Recession. Our leaders have guided us through these down turns as well as the dramatic upswings, characteristic of an industry that ebbs and flows. Over the past century, our leaders have adapted our business to the changing marketing conditions, reducing risk and working with a mindset focused on long-term strategy and success. HomeStreet has the culture of a mortgage lender but the stability and strength of a larger bank.

Curious to see how our years of experience and expertise could benefit your business? There’s only one way to find out – come see for yourself!
