SEATTLE, Wash. – July 3, 2016 – In its first league race since the sponsorship began, Miss HomeStreet pulled off its first official win of the 2016 unlimited hydroplane racing season, clinching the 2016 Indiana Governor’s Cup Race at the Madison Regatta in Madison, Indiana.
“Since this was the first race in HomeStreet Bank’s colors, I wanted to do them and the fans proud,” said Miss HomeStreet driver Jimmy Shane. “I cannot wait to get out there on the water for the other races. I think this is going to be an exciting season.”
Skimming along the surface of the Ohio River averaging nearly 150 miles per hour, racing fans got their first look at the newly painted Miss HomeStreet. Leading up to the race, the boat was displayed at HomeStreet’s Southcenter branch and at its Yakima branch for bank events. More viewing events are planned for this racing season at HomeStreet Bank locations throughout the Pacific Northwest ahead of the Tri Cities’ Water Follies, Seattle’s Seafair events, and Bayfair in San Diego.
“Congratulations are truly in order for Jimmy and the entire racing team for today’s win,” said HomeStreet Bank CEO and President Mark K. Mason. “It’s remarkable to watch these races, and we are thrilled to sponsor this very talented team.”
