HomeStreet Bank today announced that they have teamed up with Seattle Sounders FC and Habitat for Humanity Seattle-King County (Habitat SKC) to help build homes for neighborhood kids and families in the Habitat SKC community of La Fortuna in Renton, south of Seattle.
On September 30th, 2015, community and team members from HomeStreet and Habitat SKC, along with Seattle Sounders FC players and staff, will help construct a 9-unit attached townhome. Construction will start at 9:30 a.m.
In addition to being a part of the Habitat SKC build, Sounders players and alumni will also meet with volunteers from 12:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. The players attending will be Troy Perkins, Cristian Roldan and Oniel Fisher. Once neighborhood kids arrive back to their Habitat homes from school around 3:20 P.M., they will have a chance to kick the soccer ball with Sounders players, as well as put finishing touches on a youth playhouse that will also be constructed during the day.

Building participants from HomeStreet’s executive team include Godfrey Evans, Executive VP & Chief Administrative Officer; Melba Bartels, CFO and Kathy Williams, SVP & Community Relations Director. and Darrel van Amen, Executive VP, Chief Investment Officer & Treasurer. Habitat SKC’s Kevin Hunter, Acting CEO and Eric Thom, Director of Development, will also be on hand.
