Foreclosure Prevention Resources

HomeStreet believes that it is in everyone’s best interest to prevent mortgage default and we do that by encouraging homeownership education as well as taking extra measures to help our borrowers if they find themselves in that situation. 

HomeStreet Bank partners with several nonprofits in our neighborhoods who offer extensive Foreclosure Prevention Counseling such as the Portland Housing Center, Solid Ground (King County) and the Urban League of Seattle).  For a complete list of organizations that provide this resource, contact the Affinity Lending Center by email at hthl@homestreet.com. 

When a person is faced with the possibility they may go into foreclosure, it is an extremely stressful time for them.  HomeStreet Bank has an outstanding Loan Administration team who counsel those facing foreclosure or collections.  This group does a detailed intake on each customer to try to understand why they fell behind on their payments so they can recommend the right program for their situation.  Their goal is always to try to save the customer’s home by utilizing a variety of programs including forbearance, interest rate reduction, repayment assistance, and silent seconds that can help people get back on track with their mortgage.
