Up to $50 million FDIC insurance for your CD deposits with CDARS®
When you place large CD deposits with HomeStreet Bank, we place your funds in CDs issued by other banks in the CDARS network. CDARS stands for Certificate of Deposit Account Registry Service. Each CD is issued in amounts under $100,000, so your entire deposit, both principal and interest, is completely FDIC-insured. As a result, you receive coverage from many banks while working with just one, HomeStreet.
No need to manage multiple bank relationships and work with a variety of interest rates and interest disbursements from various sources. And no more consolidating multiple statements.
Investing is simple:
- You choose from a variety of rates and terms to find the one that suits your needs. CDARS CDs are available in 4-week, 13-week, 26-week, 52-week, 104-week and 156-week terms.
- You sign a CDARS Deposit Placement Agreement and make a deposit to HomeStreet Bank.* Your account relationship remains with HomeStreet Bank and we are your single point of contact for questions regarding your CDARS CDs.
- Your funds are placed using the CDARS service and your CDs are issued by other banks in the network and you’ll receive confirmation from HomeStreet Bank of your CDARS CDs.
- You’ll receive one easy-to-read monthly statement summarizing all your CDARS CDs, including maturity dates, interest rates and other details. You will also receive one consolidated 1099 year-end tax statement for your CDARS CDs.
- HomeStreet’s privacy policy ensures that your confidential information remains protected.
*Funds may be submitted for placement only after a depositor enters into the CDARS Deposit Placement Agreement with HomeStreet Bank. The agreement contains important information and conditions regarding the placement of funds by us. Funds must be "collected" by HomeStreet Bank before placement with CDARS. Minimum required deposit for placement is $50,000. Early withdrawal penalties apply on CDARS CDs. For 4-week and 13-week term CDs the early withdrawal penalty is full interest to maturity. For 26-week, 52-week, 104-week and 156-week term CDs the early withdrawal penalty is half interest to maturity. No partial withdrawals are permitted.
