Green Home Remodel Our homes impact our pocketbooks, our health, and our environment. Learn how to combine health, efficiency and beauty in your next home improvement project with this free class taught by Thor Peterson at HomeStreet Bank! This two-hour workshop explains what makes a remodel “green,” describes how the green remodeling approach is distinct from conventional remodeling, and shows case studies of real Seattle remodels. Samples of green materials and recommended books will also be displayed, and there will be plenty of opportunity for project-specific questions.

Thor's bio Thor Peterson is the Residential Green Building specialist with Seattle Department of Planning and Development. Thor has spent the last eight years teaching design and construction professionals and the general public about various residential green building strategies. Thor holds a Master of Public Administration with a focus in Environmental Policy from the University of Washington. He is the author of Seattle’s Green Home Remodel guides.
