HomeStreet Bank helps its employees provide the valuable resources of time and people to support nonprofit organizations and causes in our communities. Our staff pursues projects in teams to help with tasks ranging from hammering nails at a Habitat for Humanity House to participating in a 24–hour American Cancer Society Relay for Life. Some other examples of HomeStreet's employee volunteerism include:
- Rebuilding Together — Rebuilding Together is a nonprofit organization that helps less–advantaged homeowners who are not able to cover the cost of home repairs because of age, physical limitations or low income. HomeStreet teams in Olympia and Seattle volunteer for Rebuilding Together events.
- Parks Appreciation Day in Pierce County — HomeStreet Bank teams volunteer to participate in clean–up and planting efforts in parks throughout the county. Additionally, HomeStreet is a major sponsor.
- East Hawaii Coalition for the Homeless — A group of HomeStreet employees recently volunteered to paint rooms in emergency and transitional apartments. This organization provides emergency and transitional housing, clothing, food, case management and life–skills classes for homeless people in Hawaii County.
- American Cancer Society Relay for Life — Annually, HomeStreet staff team together to walk the 24–hour Relay for Life in both Vancouver and Tacoma.
- Habitat for Humanity — HomeStreet provides leadership, service and arranges work parties to lend a hand in building homes for Habitat for Humanity.
