Parks and Open Spaces
HomeStreet Bank is working to preserve and protect our communities' parks and open spaces. We take a long–term view of our relationships with our customers and our communities, not only for the current generation, but for future ones as well. The inevitable growth in our cities and towns has made the need for community parks and natural open spaces more critical than ever. An important element in the health of our communities is the ability to access open spaces in the form of parks and natural areas. HomeStreet Bank partners with community groups, corporate citizens and governmental agencies in support of neighborhood parks and open space creation, enhancement or protection efforts. Examples of our work include:
- Cascade Land Conservancy — The Cascade Land Conservancy (CLC) protects wild and open space areas in the Puget Sound region and is known for its willingness to partner with public private organizations to address the community's desire for a healthy environment. HomeStreet Bank supports the CLC in a variety of ways, including leadership and financial support.
- Parks Appreciation Day in Pierce County — HomeStreet Bank is one of the major sponsors of Parks Appreciation Day. Additionally, each year teams of volunteers participate in cleanup and planting efforts in parks throughout the county.
- Old John Hay School — Located in Seattle's Queen Anne neighborhood, HomeStreet provided the Old John Hay School with financial support, leadership, and a team of volunteers to turn an old asphalt playground into gardens and play areas for children.
