Homes and Housing
One of HomeStreet Bank's strategic giving areas is homes and housing. At HomeStreet we believe everyone should have a home, and we work to support organizations that provide places for individuals and families to call home.
HomeStreet supports homes and housing through a variety of initiatives. HomeStreet takes a holistic approach to its support for nonprofit housing organizations including providing staff time and expertise to help with everything from helping build a Habitat for Humanity house to teaching first–time homebuyer seminars. Examples of our commitment to homes and housing initiatives include:
- Habitat for Humanity HomeStreet Bank partners with many local Habitat for Humanity affiliates in the communities where we do business. We partner through financial contributions, ongoing employee leadership, and servicing home loans. HomeStreet has also contributed funding for building materials and many employee service hours.
- Portland Housing Center HomeStreet Bank works closely with and is a strong financial supporter of the Portland Housing Center. HomeStreet managers serve on the advisory board and our staff teaches classes to first–time homebuyers. We also offer special loan programs to first–time homebuyers through our relationship with the Center.
- Hawai'i Homeownership Center The Hawai'i Homeownership Center is an organization that provides education, information and support to first–time homebuyers in Hawaii. In addition to our financial support, HomeStreet Bank employees provide services for potential homebuyers.
