Habitat for Humanity
HomeStreet Bank has actively partnered with the Habitat for Humanity organizations in our communities for many years. Our partnership with various Habitat for Humanity chapters has included volunteerism, sponsorship of a new home, board leadership and servicing of home loans. Additionally, HomeStreet Bank has contributed more than $500,000 to Habitat for Humanity organizations over the past 12 years.
Each year, our employees work on a variety of construction and landscaping projects for new Habitat for Humanity homes. They also help out at fundraising and educational events that highlight Habitat’s involvement in the local community.
Many of our HomeStreet managers have served on the board of directors and in other leadership roles for Habitat chapters. HomeStreet also purchases, manages, and waives servicing and origination fees on loans for Habitat homes. HomeStreet has made in-kind donations of office furniture and other items to Habitat.
In 2006 and 2007, HomeStreet has created a special holiday card program in which we contribute one dollar for each card we send to the nearest Habitat for Humanity organization. The card is illustrated with a picture drawn by a child whose family is a Habitat for Humanity client. This program resulted in $40,000 to support the following Habitat for Humanity chapters:
