Remote Deposit FAQs

   
Q: What is Remote Deposit Capture and who can use it?
A: Remote Deposit Capture is a service offered by HomeStreet Bank that allows business customers to make deposits electronically directly from their place of business using a scanner, provided by the Bank, and secure internet access.
   
Q: What is the deposit cut-off time?
A: Deposits are accepted until 6:00 pm (Pacific Time) Monday through Friday. Deposits made over a weekend will be processed the next business day.
   
Q: When will funds be deposited to my account?
A: Files received by 6:00 pm PT will be credited to your account the same day and will be available to view in Online Banking the following business day.
   
Q: Can I process anything other than personal and business checks with Remote Deposit Capture?
A: Yes, Under the Check 21 Act, remote deposit also allows the processing of money orders, traveler’s checks, cashier's checks, government checks, warrants and more.
   
Q: How long am I required to keep the scanned deposited items?
A: HomeStreet recommends checks be secured for 14 days and be destroyed no later than 75 days after deposit. Deposited checks must be kept in a secure location at all times.
   
Q: Is the program difficult to use?
A: Our Remote Deposit Capture program is very user friendly. Your Cash Management representative will visit your place of business to install and train your staff on the features and benefits of using Remote Deposit Capture. Once installation and training are completed, questions can be answered by calling our Customer Service Center at 800-719-8080 or 206-389-6309 in the Seattle area.
   
Q: Is the scanner easy to use?
A: HomeStreet Bank offers a variety of user friendly scanners. Your Cash Management representative can assist you in selecting the scanner that will best suit your business needs.
   
Q: What are the computer requirements for Remote Deposit Capture?
A: HomeStreet Bank recommends a Pentium III or higher

Internet Explorer 5.0 or higher
500 MB Free Hard Drive Space
RAM 512 MB or higher
USB 2.0 port (USB 1.1 supported)
Broadband (high speed) Internet connection,
