Godfrey Evans Executive Vice President, Chief Administrative Officer & General Counsel
Godfrey B. Evans is Chief Administrative Officer, Executive Vice President and General Counsel of HomeStreet Bank. Mr. Evans is a seasoned public company general counsel with significant experience in public offerings, recapitalizations and turnaround transactions. Prior to joining the executive team at HomeStreet, Mr. Evans served as the Managing Director of the Bankruptcy and Restructuring Practice Group at Marshall & Stevens, Inc., a national, full-service valuation and financial advisory firm. In 2008-2009, Mr. Evans served as the General Counsel and Chief Restructuring Executive for Chapeau, Inc., a cogeneration manufacturing company.
As a lawyer in private practice, Mr. Evans has provided a variety of business legal, litigation support, transactional negotiation, and drafting and regulatory compliance services, including compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley legislation, to various banking and business clients. From 1987 to 2002, Mr. Evans served as General Counsel, Executive Vice President of Fidelity Federal Bank before its sale in 2001. Prior to joining Fidelity Federal Bank, Mr. Evans worked as a corporate, banking and securities lawyer for Gibson Dunn & Crutcher, LLP in Los Angeles, California. Mr. Evans holds a J.D. with honors from Loyola Law School, and Masters of Architecture and Bachelors of Arts degrees from the University of California at Berkeley. He is a member of the State Bars of California and the District of Columbia (inactive).
